Important Tips for Tipping in Morocco
- Use Local Currency: Always tip in Moroccan Dirhams (MAD). Paying in foreign banknotes (like Euros or US Dollars) can be difficult for locals to exchange at banks.
- Keep Small Bills Handy: Try to keep 10, 20, and 50 MAD notes on hand so you can easily hand over the exact tip amount at the end of the tour.
- Tip Directly: Hand the tip directly to your guide with a sincere “shukran” (thank you) at the end of the experience. If you are in a small private group, you can pool your tips together into one envelope or cash hand-off.
